*k*: 3 Marys at the sepulcher
We read, in the 37th chapter of Genesis, that Reuben came and sought his brother Joseph in the well; and when he found it he was greatly troubled, and said to his brethren, "The child is not there - and I, whither shall I go?" This Reuben signifies Mary Magdalene who with sorrow and devotion sought for Christ in the tomb, and received from the angel the answer that He had risen from the dead - she herself was afterwards found worthy to see Him. |

We read in Solomon's Song, third chapter, concerning that bride uho, while seeking for her beloved spouse, saith, "I have sought him whom my soul loveth, and I have not found him." This bride is a type of Mary Magdalene, who sought her Beloved in the tomb, and afterwards, when He had risen, found Him. | ||||||
