c: Epiphany

We read in the second book of Kings, chapter 3, that Abner, captain of the army of Saul, came to David in Jerusalem, that he might bring to him all the people of Israel, which were then following the house of Saul, which figured the coming to Christ of the magi, who worshiped Christ with mystic gifts.

We read in the third book of Kings, chapter 10, that the Queen of Sheba, having heard the fame of Solomon, came to Jerusalem with great gifts to worship him. The queen was a gentile, which well figured the nations which came from afar to worship the Lord with gifts.
Psalms 71.10 The kings of Tharsis and the isles shall offer presents. Isa. 60.14 And they shall worship the steps of Thy feet.

This people denotes ist is worshiped. Gold, frankincense and myrrh are placed before Him. the gentiles seeking to join Christ. In type this denotes the gentiles coming to Christ.
Isa. 2.2-3 And all nations shall flow unto Him, and many people shall go. ?? A star shall rise out of Jacob, and a rod shall spring up from the root.
Christ is worshiped. Gold, frankincense and myrrh are placed before Him.
